Herpetiles
- Lizards
Herpetiles, or the Amphibian and Reptile group
of
animals comprising snakes, newts and lizards.
The UK has few lizard species, withthe common or
viviparous lizard and slow-worm being predominant.
A rarity is the sand lizard, which I have been to
photograph, but so far only sightings have resulted.

in mature gardens hiding under logs, or on sandy paths

have been taken in Gloucestershire.
